Bellevue Town Car

This is a full-sized car of the old school, with an emphasis on maximum luxury and minimum driver fatigue. But it’s built with modern standards and technology, hence is barely over 2 tons (2.03 tonnes) – excellent, given the specification. The Two Car had first received its more rounded lines in 1997 but underneath it continued with a double wishbone front and live axle rear.

What the car did have to help ride was a Watts linkage on the back axle and air springs to smooth out the bumpiest of surfaces. The Town Car used the same engine as it had done since the early 1990s, that being the Ford Modular unit with single cam per bank, sequential multi-point fuel injection, and Ford’s high-tech EEC-V engine management. It’s whisper-quiet, even at speed. The Cartier edition shown means leather, and every other optional extra is fitted as standard.
